Key Taxes

31% standard

Corporate Tax (IS)

Standard corporate income tax. Reduced rates: 10% for new companies (first 5 years), 0% in free zones (first 5 years then 15%).

Applies to SARL, SA, and other corporate entities. Free zone companies enjoy 0% for 5 years.

20% standard

VAT (TVA)

Value-added tax on goods and services. Reduced rates of 14%, 10%, and 7% apply to specific categories.

Standard 20%, reduced 14% (transport, restaurants), 10% (banking, telecom), 7% (water, medical).

0-38% progressive

Income Tax (IR)

Personal income tax on employment income, professional income, and capital gains. Progressive rates from 0% to 38%.

Seven brackets. Deductions available for professional expenses, mortgage interest, and family allowances.

Payroll Taxes

Employer charges include CNSS (6.74%), AMO (13.96%), medical leave (1.11%), and training tax (1.2%).

Employee also contributes ~11% for CNSS, AMO, and income tax withholding.

Labor Law

Law 65-99 governs employment contracts, working hours (44/week), overtime, leave, and termination procedures.

Commercial Register

Companies must register with the Registre de Commerce (RC) and obtain a patent (patente) for tax purposes.

Customs Regulations

Import/export regulations, customs valuation, origin certificates for FTA compliance, and free zone customs procedures.

Foreign Exchange

Office des Changes regulates capital flows, repatriation of profits, and foreign currency transactions.
